Everything you need to know about AED Programs
Plus our #1 recommended AED for any location
Not sure if you need an AED?
American Heart Association recommends implementations of an AED Program in any location-school, business, organization, etc. that meets one of the following criteria:
(1) the frequency of cardiac arrest is such that there is a reasonable probability of AED use within 5 years of rescuer training and AED placement;
(2) there are children or adults attending/working in the location who are thought to be at high risk of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) (e.g. child with congenital heart disease or adults with heart disease);
(3) an EMS call-to-shock interval of less than 5 minutes cannot be reliably achieved with a conventional EMS system, and a collapse-to-shock interval of less than 5 minutes can be reliably achieved ( in more than 90% of cases) by training and equipping laypersons to function as first responders by recognizing SCA, activating the EMS system, starting CPR and using an AED.
Does your location fit the above criteria?
When purchasing an AED it's wise to do a little research to make sure you find the AED that best fits your needs.
We have done the research for you.
Some of the most important items to ask is how much will it cost to maintain the AED, who will do the approved CPR/AED training, and do I really need a doctor involved if I purchase an AED. We can answer all of these questions and more...just call us!
Once you have selected which AED fits your needs there are a couple of elements that go into setting up a Public Access AED Program.
