Acquisition Life Trends Group (Dana Point, CA)
AED Institute acquired its first company, Life Trends Group, based in Dana Point, California. The previous owner, Bryan Flynn — a retired LA firefighter — is stepping into retirement. AED Institute will carry forward the client relationships and AED advocacy work Bryan built over the years. All California clients have been welcomed into the AED Institute family.
Halloween Manikin Decorating Contest
A community engagement contest inviting clients and teams to decorate their CPR manikins. Submissions due October 25, 2025. Voting via social media the week of October 31st. Three cash prizes valued at $50–$100 each.
HSI CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Course
November 5–6, 2025 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM | AED Institute Office, Honolulu
Fee: $500 per candidate (paid in advance). No prior experience required. Includes annual affiliation with AED Institute. California clients were promised a class in their area in the near future.

November 2025 Newsletter Highlight — Survivor #82
Brian, a Hawaiian Airlines ramp employee, went into cardiac arrest while on the job at Hilo Airport. His coworkers responded immediately alongside the Hilo ARFF crew, and Brian survived.
He is now the 82nd documented cardiac arrest survivor from the State of Hawaii Airport AED Program.
To mark the occasion, AED Institute held a CPR/AED training session at Hilo Airport for all involved — giving the group a chance to debrief, connect, and reinforce the skills that saved Brian’s life.
